Despite concerns about the economic recovery appearing in the news from time to time, Joey Castilleja sees positive signs of business growth.
Castilleja operates Incredible Lease in Zillah, and deals with a variety of commercial clients.
“I am seeing businesses wanting to expand,” Castilleja said.
He deals exclusively with commercial leases and mostly with equipment, he said.
His clients find him through his Internet Web site, www.incrediblelease.com, and come from across the nation.
“Real entrepreneurs are optimistic,” Castilleja said. “I think we’re coming up on a boom.”
He’s been in the lease business for about two years, he said, but developing it has been interrupted by deployments of his National Guard unit to Iraq and Afghanistan, as a member of the U.S. Air Force band.
He plays guitar and percussion in the band.
Since his return to civilian life and his commercial leasing business, Castilleja said he has dealt with a lot of start-up businesses.
He described his firm as a “lease brokerage,” in which he matches investment money with a business owner.
Castilleja said he has found funds for everything from airplanes to pizza ovens for his clients.
The most unusual request for his services came from an individual who wanted to lease straw bales to use in the construction of a dwelling.
“He wanted to lease a straw house,” said Castilleja.
He also operates Genius Coach, which creates an “online business console” for clients who want to create a business on the Internet.
“It’s an online business, not a Web site,” Castilleja said.
He can develop the design and content of the console, for an up-front fee, and then host it for a monthly fee.
“I keep it very affordable,” Castilleja said. “I can even lease it to you.”
He said one of the benefits of the console is its data-gathering capability, which the client can access at any time.
The console can be used for online shopping, email marketing, personal branding, and a variety of other purposes, and allows the client to tap into the benefits of social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
Castilleja sees social media as an important opportunity for any business.
“If you’re not on Facebook and Twitter, you’re leaving money on the page,” he said.
He said the consoles can be used by clients “no matter what level of computer literacy they have.”
He said he uses the concept to market his leasing business.
It allows him to do business nationally and internationally from his office in Zillah.
“Our door is open to the entire world, and I know when (potential clients) come in,” he said.
He said he is developing workshops about how to use the Internet effectively, and will begin with a free presentation about Web content marketing online.
He expects to begin offering the workshops in April or May, Castilleja said.
