Walmart is hiring approximately 380 associates to work at the new Walmart slated to open this fall in Yakima. To facilitate applications, the retailer has opened a temporary hiring center at 306 Division Street in Yakima.  

The hiring center began accepting applications Aug. 3, and will continue accepting applications from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.  Interested applicants can apply online at http://walmartstores.com/Careers/7745.aspx.  According to store manager Kim Pierce, the store will be hiring both full- and part-time associates. Pierce said associates are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.    

The majority of associates will begin work in September to help prepare the store for its grand opening in the fall. 

Walmart announced in June that the company will create 22,000 jobs across the country in 2009, including store management positions, pharmacists, human resource managers, customer service associates, cashiers and sales associates among others.
