Yakima Valley Habitat For Humanity has announced it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from The Home Depot.
The grant will be used to help build Maria Ramon’s house in the Marvin Gardens Project at 3102 Hathaway, off of Fruitvale Blvd. in Yakima.
“The Home Depot, like Habitat for Humanity, believes that home ownership is the centerpiece of building a strong, stable community,” said Eric Jacobson, Yakima Store Manager. “This is why we are working to close the affordable housing gap through the development of environmentally friendly and healthy homes that working families can afford to own and live in for the long term.”
In addition to the grant, Home Depot volunteers spent a day working on the Ramon home Sept. 17.
