Lighted farm implement parade slated for Dec. 5 in Sunnyside

  • 12-5-2009

The 21st annual Sunnyside lighted farm implement parade will be Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m.

It has been featured in “Sunset” magazine and on national television, and named one of the top 10 parades in the nation by A&E.

It was the first lighted implement parade in the Yakima Valley, starting back in 1988.
The parade features more than 70 lighted farm implements decorated with thousands of lights.

Among them are tractors, combines, harrow beds, swathers, grape pickers, semi-trucks, horse-drawn entries, and a variety of unique Christmas floats.

The parade route starts in downtown Sunnyside and goes through the city center to the Yakima Valley Highway and ends on the west end of the Mid Valley Mall’s parking area.

More than 25,000 people are expected to view the parade this year.
