Yakima Craft Brewing Co. in Yakima, has completed the installation of equipment that will result in up to a 60 percent increase in production over the coming months.
The installation of additional fermentation vessels was required, along with associated plumbing and control equipment.
“This is a good day for us, and for our fans.” said President and Brewmaster Jeff Winn. “We’ll now be better able to meet the demand for our beer in Yakima and beyond.”
Yakima Craft Brewing Co. was founded near the end of 2007, and is Yakima’s only brewery, with outlets in the local area and around the state of Washington.
Demand has continued to rise since the debut of the brewery’s first label, Pale Ale.
Winn and Head Brewer Chris Swedin have gone on to release nine other labels, including popular seasonal releases on tap and in bottles.
In March of 2009, Yakima Craft Brewing Co.’s IPA received a rating of A+ from the beer magazine BeerAdvocate, their highest rating for beer.
“Of course, adding this capacity means more work for us,” said Winn, “but at least we’re doing something that we love.”
