Toppenish Community Hospital has announced the selection of Andrew Delgado as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Delgado, who is currently CEO of Indian Health Services, will take his new position July 6.

According to information from TCH, it and Yakima Regional Medical & Cardiac Center look to combine key resources in an effort to provide regional residents with immediate access to medical care, along with a streamlined system for accessing critical specialty services.

“As Yakima Regional continues to grow as a regional referral medical center, nationally recognized for cardiac, sleep and inpatient rehab services, Health Management Associates, which owns both hospitals, is actively investing in Toppenish Community Hospital as a frontline community hospital,” said Debby Guthrie, hospital CEO.

“From advanced imaging and ultrasound to contemporary remodels, Toppenish Community Hospital now offers services and technology that surpasses the capabilities of community hospitals within a 50 miles radius.”

In addition to leading the Toppenish team of physicians and staff as Chief Operating Officer, Delgado will be part of the senior management team at Yakima Regional.

“We are delighted to have Andrew join us, and to bring with him a comprehensive understanding of the medical community and the region’s medical needs,” said Guthrie. “He has worked with many of the area’s physicians and he will bring a critical and necessary skill set to both Toppenish and Yakima.”

Guthrie, who joined Toppenish Community Hospital as interim CEO two and a half years ago, will transfer to the east coast where she will be closer to her family.
