Grandview, WA, November 1, 2010 – Powell Christensen, Inc., one of the largest privately owned companies in the state of Washington has acquired Seattle-based SeaPort Petroleum.  

According to Powell Christensen’s President, Gary Christensen “Powell Christensen was looking for the right opportunity to expand our market share and distribution capability in Western Washington,” he said. 

“With the acquisition of SeaPort, we are adding a strong team that has the experience and expertise that will allow us to achieve our long-term goal of strong growth in Western Washington,” he added.

Together Powell Christensen and SeaPort Petroleum will combine to create the only distributor of fuel, lubricants and propane with the capability to market throughout the entire state of Washington.  

The companies will also be the only distributor to have direct supply contracts with every major oil company, including Chevron, Shell, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil, Valero and Tesoro.
