Yakima Valley Credit Union has announced its scholarship winners for the 2011-2012 school year.
Each student will receive a $2,000 scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship winners are:
Yakima Valley Credit Union Scholastic Achievement Scholarship:
1.) Sonia Taylor, currently attending Washington State University Yakima Valley Credit Union Warren Sutliff Volunteer Scholarship:
2.) Wendy Dimas, graduating Toppenish High School, attending University of Washington Yakima Valley Credit Union Harold Bailey Memorial Fireman’s Scholarship:
3.) Lisa Bjorklund, graduating East Valley High School, attending Whitman College. Yakima Valley Credit Union Earl Weatherman Honorary Scholarship:
4.)Joel Moberly, currently attending Perry Technical Institute; Yakima Valley Credit Union Committee’s Choice Scholarship:
5.) Juan Espinosa, graduating Davis High School, attending University of Washington
Applicants were scored on the following criteria:
Academic Record, applicant’s explanation of their Financial Need and Personal Statement.
Students were also scored on Community Service & School Activities, and Essay.
Finalists also went through an in-person interview.
